Co-Director of the Westminster Centre for Research on Ageing, Mental Health and Veterans
His research interests include, Mental Health in Later Life, Dementia and Healthy Ageing. Paul is also Independent Chair for Adult and Childrens Safeguarding in Wigan, Chair NHS England Safeguarding Adult National Network, Co-Chair of NHS England National Safeguarding Steering Group, and Non-Executive Director: Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Network
The PETRA network aims to explore the relationships between trade policy and NCDs, focussing mainly on tobacco, alcohol and ultra-processed foods to determine how trade could improve health. The network will review the existing knowledge on the topic to assess if trade and investment agreements (TIAs) take health into account and to identify barriers to this. Other activities include sandpits for setting research priorities and roundtable discussions on public attitudes to TIAs.
Network membership
Initial network membership is based on Co-Investigators spanning various academic disciplines (e.g. law, economics, public health), NGOs, charities and other universities.
